Dr. Mbali Keele(Managing Director)


Dr M Keele has extensive knowledge in the training of pharmacists with emphasis on pharmaceutical industrial processes. She is a registered assessor with the South African Pharmacy Council. She was employed by the South African Medicines Regulatory Authority as a Medicines Registration Officer and for Pharmaceutical companies operating in South Africa in their regulatory affairs and compliance units.

Dr. Mothobi Godfrey Keele (Non-Executive Director)


Dr. G Keele plays an advisory role at Moteli Consultants. Until recently, he was a distinguished academic at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University where he was involved in teaching, community service and research. During his time in academia, he helped establish a postgraduate research unit with special focus on pharmaceutical manufacturing. Alongside his academic appointment, Dr. Keele was recruited and appointed by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) based in Pretoria, South Africa. At United Nations, he led several capacity building projects geared towards improving the security of supply of medicines in South Africa by way of strengthening local production of pharmaceuticals. He was later promoted to a position of Project Coordinator looking after the beneficiary pharmaceutical advocacy groups of the United Nations across the African continent. Amongst others, he spearheaded access to markets on behalf of African based pharmaceutical companies by forging an agreement with The Global Fund to procure more medicines that are manufactured in Africa for their donor funded programmes.
After serving in both the United Nations System and academia, Dr. G Keele accepted an executive position at Kiara Health where he is currently a Director of Corporate Affairs. His current role in the pharmaceutical industry builds on his prior experience at Aspen Pharmacare where he had spent almost ten years in various roles including as a senior manager.
Dr. G Keele previously held statutory appointments by both the Medicines Control Council and the South African Pharmacy Council as an external evaluator and assessor respectively. He is an elected Vice President of the South African Association of Pharmacists in Industry and was, until recently, on the Board of the Southern African Generic Medicines Association (SAGMA).
Dr. G Keele is a suitably qualified pharmacist, he holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from the University of the North, a Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree from the Nelson Mandela University (ex UPE) as well as a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. Dr. Keele has a keen interest in the development of pharmacy as a profession in South Africa and to this end makes regular contributions at scientific meetings (conferences) both locally and abroad.
